What are the advantages and features?

Sometimes choosing between regular curtains and modern blinds can be quite difficult. Interior designers are increasingly giving preference to roller blinds or blinds. And the reviews from their customers so far are the most positive.

Modern blinds in the interior

Debut tulle blinds have become an excellent solution for decorating plastic windows on the sun protection systems market. This type of blinds not only protects from the sun, but also acts as an excellent addition to the overall interior.

Vertical tulle blinds

Their design is very simple: the tulle is attached to plastic slats using buttons or Velcro. They are installed like regular blinds in the ceiling and are adjusted using a special adjustment chain. The shift options are the same as in conventional blinds: right and left. It is possible to use both vertical and horizontal blinds.

Horizontal blinds

Colors and types of fabrics are selected individually for each customer. Externally, these types of blinds look very elegant and expensive. The clear shapes of the tulle perfectly highlight the outlines of the windows. The design of the Debut brand itself differs from ordinary blinds on the market in its strength and durability. Suppliers are always ready to help in choosing the right color and type of fabric.

Taking into account the design of blinds described above, it can be noted that for those who like to make things with their own hands, this is an excellent opportunity to decorate their space “as your heart desires,” and most importantly, quickly and simply.

The choice of colors is simply huge. You can play with colors by combining tulle and slats. The fabric can be plain or patterned, thick or transparent. We recommend decorating with decorative cornices or lambrequins.

Typically, blinds using tulle provide excellent home decor. Because they are associated with an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. However, more and more often, such a light-protective structure can be found in the design of meeting rooms in office premises, hotels, restaurants, and film studios.

Criterias of choice

To find your version of a Roman blind, you need to answer the following questions:

  1. What is the purpose of the room and what design is it decorated in?
  2. How strong is the intensity of sunlight entering the room through the window?
  3. What is the size, shape of the window opening and how does it open.

Next, determine the shape, size and density of the curtains. Then they move on to choosing colors. It depends on the main color palette of the room and personal preferences.

Hybrid curtains and blinds

Tulle blinds are even more like perfectly draped curtains. Perfectly even folds delight the eye, light tulle creates an image of a cozy, homely design, and all this is complemented by the functionality of the blind system, when you can open and close the system with one movement of the hand, just like conventional vertical blinds.

By rotating the slats in different planes, you can change the degree of illumination and the angle of incidence of light, which also allows you to add variety to the daily design of the room. The intermediate image between curtains and blinds allows for all kinds of design of the top part of the curtains. Tulle blinds can be complemented with lambrequins - both hard and soft. They all go great with tulle drapery, just like regular tulle.

Blinds made of dense fabric that keeps the shape of the folds

If you renovate a room, radically change the style and color scheme of the design, tulle blinds can easily adapt to the new image. There will be no need to throw away or add such expensive structures; it will be enough to purchase or sew a new cover with your own hands, add a lambrequin, swags, throws, or decorate a cornice from the same fabric as the curtains.

The bottom of these blinds is not fixed to the slats; the folds are formed more freely

Vertical blinds and curtains are beautifully illuminated by outdoor lighting, and if you choose the right tulle color, northern rooms can be transformed with diffused warm light coming from the window.

Looks like curtains, works like blinds

Tulle blinds are suitable for decorating both plastic and wooden windows, and they will look unusual and bright. You yourself can realize any design idea by ordering an additional case, or making it yourself.

Ideal folds for a perfectly symmetrical lambrequin

Tulle blinds are very similar to regular curtains, and this quality is really convenient - they can also be hung in an opening, or vertical blinds can be used as interior partitions. A top decorated with even the simplest throws and swags can be viewed from a closer distance than the curtains on the window, which will make the doorway truly the center of attention in the room.

Advantages

Tulle blinds are a modification of standard “office” blinds for use in more intimate settings of institutions, libraries, and home interiors. The design of such a curtain is an ordinary plastic blind, the slats of which are wrapped on one side with fabric, secured under the slider with a button. The lamellas are pre-perforated for a button, a kind of cover with buttons is sewn from any type of fabric, and sequentially put on each lamella. The tulle is fixed at the bottom of each lamella with a plastic thread.

Wrinkle-resistant fabric for lamellas

Thus, tulle blinds have obvious advantages over conventional vertical blinds:

  1. Tulle gives the design a softer, calmer outline. The effect of the official nature of the vertical slats is hidden;
  2. Blinds diffuse harsh light, making the room more comfortable to be in even on a bright sunny day when curtained;
  3. Tulle blinds come in many colors. Changing the style of blinds becomes easier and cheaper, because all you need to do is sew a new tulle cover;
  4. Caring for the blinds is very simple - you just need to remove the cover and wash it. It is enough to sometimes wipe the plastic slats with a cloth soaked in a soap solution;
  5. The service life of the blinds is extended due to the use of a replaceable cover.

Roller blinds and tulle

Tulle is used together with roller blinds when they are mounted on the sashes or inside the window opening. It can be combined with almost any type of fabric of different textures. The most important thing is to choose the right shade. Weightless and delicate, it gives a standard window and strict, laconic rolls a special zest:

  • it can be used to frame rolls only at the edges, visually smoothing the corners;
  • completely fill the entire width of the window opening;
  • arrange in the form of 3 stripes, one of which is in the center, and the other two are located at the edges;
  • give the tulle fabric an abstract shape, for example, trim its bottom in the shape of a wave or arch.

If the interior concept allows, tulle can be supplemented with a lambrequin that matches the color scheme with the rolls.

Particularly popular are double roller blinds for windows, in which one of the panels is made of thick curtain fabric, and the second of tulle.

Translucent and medium-density fabric blinds can be combined with any curtain (tulle) materials. In contrast, dense and light-proof roller blinds look harmonious only with tulle made of matte or dense lace fabric. Naturally, when choosing, the color scheme of both the curtains and the room itself is taken into account. Most often, tulle colors are selected either to match the rolled structures, or, on the contrary, are chosen to be contrasting.

When experimenting with tulle curtains and rolls, do not forget about the general rule - it is permissible to use no more than 2-3 colors and their shades in the design. The only exception is the “rainbow” design, in which many colors are simultaneously used in a small (!) area of the room. For other decorative elements, the rule of three remains true. Moreover, the colors used must be ideally combined with the shades that dominate the “rainbow”.

We install the structure without drilling

The roller blinds are assembled according to the same principle as described above. The main difference is the method of attaching the brackets. Without screws or drilling, they are glued to the sash, or attached to special hooks to the upper edge of the sash.

Hooks are applicable if the width of the sash and the seal allow this. The bracket is assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions. The shaft is mounted on the installed brackets similar to the drilling method. In this method, it is important not to forget to check that the bracket latches do not interfere with closing the window.

As for fasteners with an adhesive layer, everything is simple. The first step is to thoroughly degrease the surface where the structure will be glued. Then everything follows according to the instructions. By the way, the adhesive base can be additionally lubricated with glue - this will be more reliable.

Roller blinds and blinds

At first glance, the combination of two types of blinds on one window (solid panels and horizontal or vertical slats) may seem pointless. However, it has a right to exist, especially on small windows. Some choose it for reasons of practicality: it is very convenient to regulate the light with two types of curtains at once, while others choose it out of love for everything original and non-standard. So, for example, on a window, you can hang a UNI roller blind on one sash, and horizontal blinds on the other. This option is unlikely to be suitable for a living room, but for a bathroom or kitchen it will be quite viable.

The slats of plastic or metal blinds can be covered with thick linen or cotton in pastel shades. Such updated designs can be combined with rolls of any colors and prints.

A combination of roller blinds and vertical blinds can be one of the most convenient and practical options for non-standard office windows, for example, when only one, narrow central sash opens. Vertical blinds are mounted on the static parts of the window, and the UNI cassette roller shutter is attached to the swing sash.

Roller blinds are certainly functional and practical. But for them to become a real decoration of the premises, designers show their imagination and combine them with all kinds of curtains of different textures and colors. Depending on the idea, using two or even three types of curtains, you can create the most non-trivial curtain compositions, from bright and catchy to strict and businesslike, and create truly unique and inimitable interiors.

Tulle curtain material

Tulle made of veil and organza is easy to wash, the material does not deform and lasts a long time. Silk is used to produce organza; it is expensive, so it is often replaced with polyester or viscose. The result is a rigid canvas with a matte or shiny surface.

Organza allows the sun's rays to pass through well. When decorating windows, use plain fabrics or canvases with a printed pattern. To apply the ornament, the method of etching or photo printing is used. The design can be embroidered with thread. Organza with a laser-cut image looks impressive.

The veil is denser than organza, but softer; light passing through it is scattered. The surface of this fabric is only matte. Silk or cotton are used for manufacturing; products made from synthetic or mixed threads are available for sale.

A plain veil or fabric with an ornament looks good with roller blinds. Fabrics with gold, silver plating or guipure inserts must be chosen carefully - they must be combined with roller blinds, so you need to pay attention to the choice of tulle colors.

Combination methods

There are several types of window decoration with roller blinds in combination with tulle:

  • When tulle frames the roller blinds on both sides.
  • When three tulle sheets are used, one of which is hung in the middle.
  • Tulle fills the entire window opening. In this case, this curtain can be floor-length or cut, for example, in the shape of an arch or a wave.

Also, this design solution is often complemented with a lambrequin, which will be combined with roller blinds.

Tulle blinds, curtain fabrics

To decorate the window and protect it from sunlight, various types of drapery, curtains and drapes are used. Tulle blinds are not only a practical and convenient way to protect your window from the sun's sultry rays, but also a beautiful element that decorates your favorite window. They combine the convenience of conventional vertical curtains with the incomparable appeal of tulle draped curtain fabric.

Ordinary tulles cannot protect us from prying prying eyes from the outside of the window, but this can be done by vertical blinds, which do an excellent job of this at night, and also become invisible in the daytime, turning 90 degrees edgewise.

Tulle blinds are made from ordinary plastic slats, “dressed” in light, airy tulle material. They are an ideal solution for those who value practicality, but at the same time want to complement it with decorative, eye-catching elements. The cozy luxury of tulle transforms an ordinary sunscreen into a work of art. Tulle slats will truly become an unusual, flirty decoration for any window.

To decorate a room in a classic style, ordinary blinds are not suitable, no matter how much we would like it. But in the case of tulle, this is simply the ideal and most optimal option. Delicate and light tulle blinds will not only decorate a classic interior, but will also perfectly protect from light with one movement of the hand, turning the slats parallel to the window.

With the tulle blinds open, we can see an airy, classic tulle curtain that lets plenty of light into the room. Thanks to this, the effect of plastic boring blinds in the room disappears. The tulle slats are closed using a chain mechanism. The secret of such blinds is that the folds of translucent tulle hide plastic slats that regulate the penetration of light from the street. Thanks to the tight fit of the lamellas to each other, it is possible to ensure almost complete darkening of the room. With the slats fully open and oriented perpendicularly, maximum brightness in the room can be achieved. Agree that with a regular tulle curtain, which only softly diffuses light, this effect cannot be achieved.

Varieties

There are two main types of systems, differing in design.

  • Open

Consists of a shaft and canvas. They are not protected by anything and are clearly visible. Therefore, this type is called open.

The equipment is inexpensive, but in some cases the mechanism can have a negative impact on the design of the room. Also, be prepared for the fact that light will still penetrate from the sides: this is especially important when you are buying decor for a bedroom or nursery.

A weighting agent (made of aluminum or plastic) must be provided in the lower part. It is needed for the fabric to stretch.

  • Closed

Here the base is closed on top with a protective cassette, and guides are installed on the sides of the opening. This ensures that the curtain fits snugly against the window and minimizes sun penetration.

The design can blend so well with the profile that in the folded position it is practically invisible. Or, on the contrary, you can choose a contrasting frame that will become an effective addition to the interior.

But the system will cost more, and its installation is more difficult.

Functional system

In terms of ease of operation, tulle blinds “Debut” are no different from the usual vertical blinds. They are also mounted to the ceiling or wall; if necessary, it is possible to replace individual slats. The lamellas themselves are made of plastic and can be moved towards the center or in any direction. When open, only the tulle remains visible, and when closed, the slats are tightly adjacent to one another and framed by elegant fabric. Using the chain, you can rotate the slats and thus vary the position of the curtains and the degree of shading of the room.

Area of use

Debut tulle blinds allow you to adjust the level of illumination in the room. This feature has long been appreciated in meeting rooms and conference rooms. In the office, tulle hides the excessive severity of the window decoration, but with the right choice of fabric color it allows you to create a working atmosphere that is not disturbed by bright sunlight.

From offices, vertical blinds, thanks to the use of delicate and elegant tulle, have moved into the home environment. They look great in the bedroom or living room, and if necessary, protect from the sun and promote healthy sleep when the room is well darkened. Tulle blinds are in perfect harmony with curtains.

Color spectrum

The choice of color is an important decision when creating an interior.

  • Beige.
  • Green.
  • White.
  • Violet.
  • Red.
  • Black.
  • Brown.
  • Lilac.
  • Grey.
  • Blue.

In what rooms is it applicable?

You can combine roller blinds with tulle in almost any room:

  • Kitchen. Here you should give preference to bamboo roller blinds. Curtains of this type made from artificial materials are also appropriate. This is due to the fact that in such a room oil or other contaminants can easily get on the curtains, they will have to be washed often, and natural fabrics do not tolerate such manipulations well. Tulle curtains here can be either short or floor-length. It depends on the location of the furniture. So, if the window sill is occupied by a table, then only short curtains are suitable here, but if the window has a balcony block, then only tulle of increased length is suitable for this case.
  • Living room. Here it is also possible to combine these two types of curtains. In this case, roller blinds should not differ much in shade from tulle, and it is better to place a veil or organza as a frame for roller blinds.
  • Bedroom . In this combination, the main rule is the use of roller blinds with maximum darkening. This is due to the fact that in this room during the daytime you want to make the atmosphere more intimate, and roller blinds will help organize this. Tulle will act only in a decorative capacity and add comfort to this room.

You can combine roller blinds and tulle in many interior design styles:

  • This combination is most applicable to country or Provence styles. In this case, it is better to hang the tulle on both sides of the window opening in order to open the roller curtains as much as possible.
  • In pompous Baroque and Rococo one can also find a place for this combination. But in this case, “window clothes” should be supplemented with heavy curtains and a lambrequin.
  • This combination will be appropriate in modern stylistic trends. For example, for an ethnic bedroom design, bamboo roller blinds framed by a tulle curtain are perfect. In a high-tech room, white roller blinds can be complemented with gray organza with a metallic sheen. You can even match this combination to minimalism. For example, plain roller blinds and tulle of the same shade with a minimum of drapery.

Necessary measurements before installation

They need to be completed not even before installation, but at an even earlier stage - before purchase. If you miss the width and height, the fabric may interfere with the opening and closing of the window. After a few weeks of use, the corner of the cornice will easily crumble the putty on the slope and hollow out a small but unsightly depression in it. Moreover, clinging to the handle of the glass unit, the cut edge will fray, and the structure itself will fall off the Velcro. And problems with darkening cannot be avoided - there will always be gaps.

Measurements are performed with a regular tape measure. Having decided what type of roller curtains you want, determine the width, height of the opening and individual sashes. Let us remind you that you can adjust a long open-type roller shutter to the desired size. This is generally not difficult, but you will have to tinker.

You will need:

  • pencil
  • tape measure or ruler
  • scissors, stationery knife
  • metal hacksaw for shortening the rod
  • file (sandpaper will also work).

You can work on the floor, because not every home has tables that can accommodate an unfolded curtain. You will have to disassemble it into individual components: shaft, fabric (or bamboo), weighting material.

How to shorten a curtain

  1. Cut the rod exactly to the required width. Finish the edge with a file or sandpaper to remove nicks.
  2. Mark the canvas exactly how you want to cut it. It should be 8–10 mm narrower than the shaft. Use only well-sharpened scissors.
  3. Using a hacksaw, adjust the length of the finishing strip so that the curtain is 10–15 mm wider than it.
  4. Now you can assemble the components again into a single system: tuck the curtain into the weighting material, put it on the shaft, secure the plugs and roll the material into a roll.

How to shorten without disassembling the structure

  • remove the weighting material,
  • cut the curtain
  • Make a “pocket pipe” at the bottom along the diameter of the bar and insert it there.

Interior decoration

Here are some examples in the interior of how you can combine roller blinds and tulle. In the kitchen, transparent roller blinds, floor-length veils and thread curtains in a contrasting shade would be an excellent choice. In the living room you can perfectly use roller blinds with double tulle curtains. In this case, the tulle should be matte and serve as curtains. This combination is applicable even in a nursery. A white tulle curtain and roller blinds with a bright fantasy pattern will look good here. Curtains made from companion fabrics are also appropriate.

Options for window design in a country house or in a wooden house

Curtains not only provide privacy, but also make the room more comfortable.

  • Veranda. Light curtains made of translucent fabric or mesh will create a romantic atmosphere and will be a wonderful addition to the veranda.
  • Terrace. To decorate a country terrace, French, Austrian curtains or curtains are used; they are the personification of relaxation and add weightlessness to the atmosphere.
  • Alcove. Light transparent canvases will create an airy effect in the space.
  • Ladder. You can hang cotton Roman or roller blinds; they will allow you to regulate the level of light in the stairwell.
