Two Sber projects became gold medalists at the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards 2021
Sber became a double gold medalist of the prestigious IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards competition, the results of which were summed up at the 32nd IPMA World Congress. The winners of the competition were the project “Development and maintenance of the AS antiCOV information system” in the category “Small and medium-sized projects implemented in the IT sector”, and the project “Antifraud 2.0” in the category “Large and megaprojects”.
The automated antiCOV system was created in the harsh conditions of the beginning of the pandemic and the entire team working remotely - only 4 days passed from the moment the task was set to launch. Today, it allows you to sign up for testing and vaccination online, track the status of your team through a dashboard system in various sections, and receive analytics about the organization’s collective immunity. The product has been integrated with hundreds of medical laboratories to provide seamless information about test results. In addition, the antiCOV AS is interconnected with bank access systems, which makes it possible to quickly respond to changing rules and test validity periods, ensuring the work of a healthy team in Sberbank offices. The antiCOV system is used daily by bank employees and managers for testing, vaccination, monitoring and prompt response to changes in the team’s health status.
The Antifraud 2.0 project based on artificial intelligence, which includes the creation of an antifraud analytical platform, protects clients from telephone scammers. It allows you to analyze and investigate complex fraud cases and combines the efforts of the Sber ecosystem and cellular operators. It includes a service for checking incoming calls in the Sberbank Online mobile application, warning clients about a suspicious call at the time of the call, and the exchange of indicators of suspicious transactions in the Faster Payments System. The service helped save 60 billion rubles of client funds.
“Sber has been participating in the competition since 2012 and has consistently shown good results. But for the first time in the history of the IPMA competition, one company became the winner of two gold awards at once. Both projects were developed by the “Services” block and are aimed at protecting clients and bank employees. Thanks to the Antifraud 2.0 project, we have something to oppose to telephone scammers, who are less and less successful, because client funds remain safe and sound. The antiCOV AS, which we developed in a phenomenally short time, helped us adequately respond to the epidemiological situation, preserving the health of our employees and providing continuous customer service even in the midst of a pandemic,” said Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank.
