Each developer has his own reason for building a gazebo with a barbecue. Someone wants to arrange a recreation area on the site for a pleasant time with family and friends. Some people practice on small architectural forms before building a country house, and at the same time give an original gift to their parents - like a portal member with the nickname Asmer, who decided to build an original gazebo with a barbecue on the site.
Gazebo with barbecue stove

At FORUMHOUSE it is customary to help novice developers with advice. Therefore, I created a topic on the portal about the work done on the construction of a gazebo with a brick oven-barbecue. I hope my experience will be useful and interesting to many participants.
Gazebos with a fireplace: considering interesting options (28 photos)
A gazebo with a fireplace is an ambitious and interesting idea for a country resident.
Any structure involving controlled fire is quite complex and expensive to build. Nevertheless, it brings comfort and warmth into the room (literally and figuratively), so for some this option is considered possible. Important : many people understand a fireplace as a structure differently. In this publication I will focus on options that have 3 functions:
- Decorative made of brick. Used to decorate a room, the fire is lit for aesthetics and to slightly warm the room (if it is closed).
- For heating and decoration - a long-burning stove with a transparent door.
- For cooking and decoration - in this case, the fireplace is a grill, barbecue and oven combined. Most often it is confused with a furnace complex.
Advantages of a winter gazebo for a summer house made of wood
You can build a closed winter gazebo from various materials, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages.
The monumental brick version will cost much more and will require a larger area and a full-fledged solid foundation. A lightweight and prefabricated building made of polycarbonate, despite its relative strength, is in many ways inferior to wood in terms of technical characteristics. The bulky metal structure is susceptible to corrosion, is heavy, heats up in the cold and requires special care.
Wooden winter gazebos are the most popular due to their many advantages:
- affordable price;
- high thermal insulation;
- noble aesthetic appearance;
- ease of maintenance and durability;
- Natural eco-friendly material is safe for health.
A winter gazebo made of wood will organically fit into the natural landscape of the site and become its worthy decoration. The structure will not rust, will not heat up at low temperatures and will last more than 15 years.
Decorative fireplace - small, beautiful, cozy
This option is rarely used in gazebos. In this case, this fireplace is a common decorative element, for which you need:
- Build an additional foundation.
- Make masonry.
- Install a chimney.
Additionally, you still need to periodically clean off soot and remove ash. On the other hand, we get a solid attribute of the interior, flooding which can create a wonderful atmosphere - silence around and the sound of crackling firewood, isn’t that wonderful?
“You can’t even fry meat” is the main argument of people who abandoned conventional decor in favor of a fireplace-barbecue for cooking. Therefore, most people are not willing to invest so heavily in an outdoor fire just to enjoy it indoors.
In this case, an outdoor barbecue is enough to fry meat, where the fire is burning and the coals are crackling.
Installation of lighting, electrification and communications
*
Point elements are used to illuminate the space in the gazebo. For a small area, 2-3 lamps are enough. If desired, you can light the path leading to the gazebo.
For electrification, it is necessary to purchase high-quality wiring, ensuring reliable waterproofing of the wires.
The presence of electrical outlets will provide the ability to install electrical appliances, additional lighting or sound.
For convenience, install a pipeline with drinking water, hiding it in the ground. In this case, it is necessary to consider the sewerage outlet if there is a washbasin or kitchen sink.
Long burning fireplace stove
An interesting option for indoor spaces. Thanks to its special design, this device will not only illuminate the room with fire, but also warm it from the inside. I would not say that such installations look extremely aesthetically pleasing and always “fit” into the gazebo, but they have their advantages:
- Do not take up much space;
- They cost much less than brick fireplaces;
- They really warm up - this is a strong argument for a closed gazebo.
I initially did not consider this format for this article. Most likely, most are considering installing a brick fireplace in their gazebo, but decided to leave it as an addition. Moreover, some options look very impressive. They are shown in the photo below.
Brick
The process of erecting a brick building is much simpler, in terms of professionalism, in contrast to a metal building, but it requires serious physical activity and a large amount of building material - bricks, concrete, mortar.
These gazebos look beautiful next to large brick cottages, when two identical buildings stand next to each other - a large one and a smaller one.
By adding design elements, such as paths or landscaping, you can create a truly elite and beautiful place to relax. In addition, brickwork can always be finished with stone, making the room even more impressive. In general, the field for creativity is huge, so there are quite a lot of options here.
Fireplace with barbecue, barbecue and stove functions
This option is much more popular among the population. The fire is burning, the coals are smoldering, the meat is fried, and pilaf can also be cooked on the stove, if the oven complex is designed for this. At first glance, there are only advantages. But, on the other hand, there is one noticeable and main disadvantage.
A fireplace like this for cooking will cost a lot of money. In some cases, it is more expensive than the gazebo itself.
This is where the thought process begins: “Do I really need such a complex? Isn't the grill enough to grill shish kebab? Maybe put it aside for a car..." People whose budget is limited think approximately in this format.
Such construction is relatively expensive for a gazebo, where people periodically gather on weekends to relax.
Decorating a vacation spot
Decorative items will make a terrace with a barbecue cozy and give it individuality.
It can be:
- paintings, photographs, panels and wall installations;
- hand-sewn or knitted furniture covers and pillows;
- warm plaid or patchwork blankets;
- original rugs, tablecloths and curtains;
- rare dishes, utensils and figurines;
- living plants.
Remember that flammable decorative objects do not belong near a stove or barbecue, or near an open fire. The recreation area needs to be decorated, and in the food preparation area, fire safety comes first.
Which option is better to choose?
A fireplace with barbecue and stove, as already mentioned, is quite expensive, and its construction is not always appropriate. And yet such construction can be very appropriate when there is a specific goal.
I was convinced of this by the example of Nikolai Tarasov, who built a closed gazebo with a fireplace, barbecue and stove in one and was satisfied with his construction (read more in the article - Do-it-yourself closed gazebo with barbecue, barbecue, stove: material calculation, photo, video ).
The construction of such a complex is advisable when there is a specific need for its use.
The main goal is cooking with his wife, as they really enjoy this process. Therefore, if you are also a cooking lover and are ready to invest in the construction of a large complex for this, this is your chance.
Leave only at least a little open fire in the stove complex, otherwise there will be nothing left of the fireplace
