Compared to the predecessor of the series - 1LG-502, houses of the 602nd series received elevators (load capacity 400 kg, old 320 kg) and garbage chutes, grew to nine floors, and single-frame windows in the entrances were replaced with three-frame ones. The direct predecessor of the 602 series is the 9/10-storey building of the 502 series at 156 Sedova Street, which is similar to both the 602 series and the 1-528KP40 series. The design of the staircase and elevator unit made it possible to place four apartments and a total of ten living rooms on the floor.
There are loggias at both ends of the house. Since 1971, they have been built with rotating sections.
The color range of panels has been expanded. The facades have become more plastic and expressive. The projects involve the use of new finishing materials - ceramics, glass tiles, polymers. The houses were faced mainly with matte beige tiles, some houses on Podvoisky Street and Solidarity Avenue were lined with blue tiles, on Lunacharsky Avenue, 76, the ninth floor was lined with red tiles, the rest with white tiles. There is no technical floor.
One of the successes of the designers is the bright landings with a window elongated in a horizontal plane. Houses of series 1-602 are cold, the thickness of the outer wall is about 35 cm. The height of the living quarters is 250 cm. There are 4 apartments on the staircase of one floor.
Among the disadvantages are the impossibility of redevelopment and through-hole sockets between apartments. After moving the sockets, the sound insulation is inferior to brick houses, but in general it is better than in houses with thinner inter-apartment walls.
In 1973 and 1977, two 18-story dotted houses were built on Oktyabrskaya Embankment near the Volodarsky Bridge, built from panels of the 602 series. In these houses, the 2nd floor is technical, and the height of the ceilings in the corridors of the 1st and 18th floors is increased.

Open and hidden electrical installation in a house series 1-LG-602
When considering all the details, the following positive aspects of open installation can be identified:

The first version of the houses was built from 1966 to 1968
. The elevators in these buildings were located in a nook between floors (the garbage chute was in the same nook on the other side). There were openings in the middle of the stairs. They were built in 6-9 entrances.
In 1969-1970
slightly modified houses were built: the entrance windows became double-framed, the number of attic windows was reduced - there were 2 times fewer of them, the floor covering on the staircase landings changed (instead of linoleum, the floor began to be finished with fragments of facing tiles). They were also built with 6-9 entrances.
In 1970-1971
houses were built with an enlarged elevator superstructure on the roof. The elevator itself moved to the apartment floor, the garbage chute moved to the right nook, the left nook was eliminated, and the openings in the middle of the stairs were narrowed. They were also built with 6-9 entrances.
In 1971-1972
in the houses of the 602nd series, corner sections and arches appeared in the turning ones; in 1972, the cobblestone design was removed. Corner sections differ from ordinary turning sections in that the windows of the turning entrance are single-frame and are located close to the turn, the entrance has a reduced floor slab in front of the entrance and does not have a canopy, in the entrance itself on the floors on the elevator side, the entrances to the apartments were in a nook.
In 1972-1975
Experiments were carried out with facing tiles: their size became smaller, and the house at 25 Bela Kuna Street above the entrance to the entrance had narrowed canopies, changed the design of ventilation ducts and the layout of bathrooms. At this time, houses of this series were built in Naberezhnye Chelny.
In 1975-1982
the entrance windows have changed - now they are three small squares, the three-leaf windows of the apartments have changed, smaller (double-leaf) windows for kitchens and small rooms have appeared, a five-story modification has appeared (such houses were built in Utkina Zavod, Shushary and other suburbs of St. Petersburg).
